Polish Women Have Big

Draw 3D!

We went back to the site, but temperatures too cold these days retard the progress of work. The few rows of concrete block crawl space let us imagine the size of the house with a strange feeling: it seems very small, almost tiny, so much so that I almost see the unit of measurement plans:) .. . Finally to silence our concern, we reassure our friends in confirming our impression that this is normal, due to lack of benchmarks.

short, suddenly we plunged into our plans, see what could be improved.

So I take this opportunity to test Floorplanner a little more depth (see previous article ) and I soon met a loophole for the use that I wanted to do: the status of "delivered", ie the level of realism achieved in the 3D representation of the plan. For drawing 2D is fine, but the view in 3D in providing much better to see the space, light sets, clearances, etc.. And more will be photorealistic 3D rendering, the more it will be simple to give an idea of the layout done. Although

Floorplanner offers a 3D visualization of plans drawn (that do not offer a good number of concurrent applications), it does not "calculate" a realistic (Or I have not figured out how to do it).

After some research, I found and tested several "competitors" to Floorplanner as Planningwiz , RoomLe , HomeStyle , etc..

HomeStyle is the one that caught my attention, for several criteria:
  • it offers a mode "snapshot" (in addition to 2D and 3D) rendering which the examples on the homepage are quite impressive,
  • is developed by AutoDesk reputation in the world of 3D modeling (3D Studio Max, AutoCad, etc.),
  • library of 3D objects seem quite complete, and some of them are customizable (colors, sizes, materials, etc.).
Tutorial ultra-fast Floorplanner , HomeStyle allowed me to model the entire ground floor of our house in a good heavy night work. Here

interface 2D with our plan (the development is as a test):

Below the mode 3D of our plan:

And SnapShot mode, specific to Homestyle, which specifies the position of a camera in the 2D plane, then run the calculation a 3D rendering

And finally, the result as expected, the 3D rendering of calculated by servers Autodesk:

Feel free to pick you up a coffee during the rendering process can take several minutes and abuse of the "preview " which allows a low quality preview rendering before the final launch.

Here are 2 others for fun:

Although everything is automatic (no adjustments necessary), I appreciate the quality of rendering photo-realistic enough, with effects perspectives can be a little too elusive, but good effects of materials, lights, reflection and a focal length / angle of view quite faithful to the human eye.

few regrets, however, the resolution, a very small, 640x400px, a lack of contrast (color and tone), and no possibility (at least not found) to add other sources of light. I also find it lacks some materials for the floor (tile pattern), and window and door can not be configured models of stairs.

The rest HomeStyle is just great as it can produce results very quickly without realistic enough knowledge in 3D modeling, all for free.
